Alcohol can affect both male and female fertility. For women, alcohol can affect hormones and the menstrual cycle, which can make it harder to conceive. For men, alcohol can decrease testosterone and sperm production.

Some studies have found that daily alcohol consumption can negatively impact semen volume and morphology. However, occasional consumption does not appear to have a negative impact.
