Is ICSI better than PICSI in IVF?

A single sperm is injected into the cytoplasm of each developed egg during in vitro fertilization using the Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (IVF-ICSI) technique. The embryologist himself chooses the spermatozoon to be injected, taking into account morphological and motility characteristics.However, the PICSI method, also known as physiological ICSI, enables the selection of spermatozoa based on their attachment to a molecule that resembles hyaluronic acid. Consequently, in this instance, the sperm selection is not carried out by the embryologist. Only fully developed spermatozoa, which have the greatest potential to fertilize the egg, will attach to these molecules.
