EMBRYO ARREST

               Blastocyst develops from about 60% of fertilized eggs. This demonstrates that around 40% of embryos stop growing before day 5 or 6. Embryo arrest occurs when an embryo stops dividing for 24 hours.

                          Since some blastocyst-stage embryos may be absent some components necessary for a healthy pregnancy, almost all of them can be frozen or transferred. A transferable or freezable blastocyst develops from 40 to 50 percent of fertilized eggs on average. On the other hand, this is significantly affected by age and medical history. Poor embryo development can be caused by developmental-specific occurrences or a pattern of embryo development in a small group of people. IVF patients frequently experience embryo arrest, which is typically used as a prophylactic technique to stop the development of defective or substandard embryos.
